    See you soon, alligator

It's the beginning of alligator mating season; if the gators can't find love in their usual haunts, they start trying different parts of town. These so-called nuisance alligators can show up almost anywhere this time of year, and are most active between dusk and dawn.

You can report a nuisance alligator at 1-866-FWC-GATOR!

    Sunfest and then some

Many a performer headed right for us and you can easily find out more with the LITE FM Concert Calendar. Also, look at the SunFest 2008 Lineup for some chewy musical goodness.

George Michael will end his first North American tour in 17 years here in South Florida. Tickets for his August 3rd date at the BankAtlantic Center go on sale Monday, April 7th, 10 a.m. He's also just released Twenty-Five, a 29-song, 2-cd set including some new songs, plus a 2-disc DVD set featuring 40 videos.

    Scratch 'n' Sniff Sneakers

Odor Eaters held their annual Rotten Sneakers competition a couple weeks ago. Vermont was noisome with some pretty grody kicks. A 15-year-old named Benjamin won the competition with sneakers so smelly, the judges nearly passed out.

    Scratch 'n' Sniff for yourself.

Oh and uh, APRIL FOOLS!!! If you really did click on that link to attempt a scratch 'n' sniff of rotten sneakers, ew to you!

    This is Earth Month

Yep, it's all about the sphere we call home! Earth Month culminates with Earth Day, which is April 22nd. Basically, it's about keeping our portion of the solar system capable of sustaining human life. Every time you use energy, you release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, creating greenhouse gases. You can find out what your carbon footprint is, and how to reduce or offset it.

Susan Wise has posted some Earth Month/Day events on her blog. See the March 31st post for more details.
