Nike Women's Marathon - Just DID it!

We did it!!! Team In Training members Marsha, GeGe, Roberta, Ammal, and Me, Kimba, under the guidance and support of Coach Barry walked 26.2 miles in the Nike Women's Marathon. For me, Marsha, GeGe and Roberta, it was our first marathon!

Kudos also goes to the entire South Florida Chapter of Team In Training - they include lovely ladies and gents from Miami and Fort Lauderdale. We had runners, walkers, run-walkers, participating in the full, or half marathon.

Over 20,000 women (and about 900 men - nice odds, huh?) walked or ran this past Sunday on the streets of San Francisco. Team In Training members raised over $18.5 million dollars for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, with about $240,000 of that from the South Florida Chapter. Ladies and Coach, it was an honor to be in your presence for such a momentous occasion.

I met a lot of incredibly cool people during the five months of training - plus got into better shape... bonus!
If you'd like to be part of a thrilling experience, you can find out more about the upcoming events Team In Training has planned.

P.S. They're not all clear across the country!!

    Fall back this weekend

In August, 2005, President Bush signed the Energy Policy Act of 2005. This changed the dates for Daylight Saving Time beginning this year. DST began on the second Sunday in March and will end, or fall back the first Sunday in November. And remember, Change Your Clock, Change Your Battery(R).
