    NASA helps NASCAR

    Space Shuttle Atlantis lifted off toward the Internation Space Station today. Within the shuttle, a dried red rose that will be woven into a NASA-themed Tournament of Roses parade float and three green starter's flags from the Daytona 500! The float and the flags celebrate the 50th anniversary of NASA and NASCAR respectively. The mission is to last eleven days with a return to the Kennedy Space Center.

    Next Tuesday is National Pancake Day! Officially, Pancake Day is today in honor of Mardi Gras (Or Shrove Tuesday - Historically this is because pancakes were a good way to use up the ingredients in your cupboards that were prohibited during Lenten austerity) ; however, due to the Super Tuesday primaries, IHOP has moved their celebration to Tuesday, February 12th. Participating IHOP restaurants will flip you a free short-stack o'buttermilk pancakes - all IHOP asks is that you consider making a donation to the Children's Miracle Network program.
