    R.A.D. FOR WOMEN
    -Don't Be Victimized By Fear-
Personal Empowerment and Safety Education for Women
Is Your Safety a Worthwhile Investment?
The R.A.D. Program: R.A.D. (Rape Aggression Defense) is a women’s self-defense program that focuses on awareness, risk reduction, and practical physical defense techniques. The philosophy and techniques were designed specifically with women, and the types of assaults against women, in mind. For that reason, the program places an emphasis on the woman’s awareness of her surroundings with recognizing and avoiding risk as a primary concern. R.A.D.’s physical techniques take advantage of the natural strengths of women’s bodies and are specifically intended to identify the attacker’s weaknesses.
The Basic-Plus Physical Defense program consists of 12 hours of instruction that include:
In depth discussion and exploration of risk reduction and awareness strategies
    Practical basic, physical defense techniques
Supervised simulations that include powerful, simulated attack scenarios where heavily padded instructors offer the participants an exciting opportunity to test their newly developed defensive skills. These realistic attack scenarios also increase the participants’ personal confidence in their ability to carry out the physical techniques in order to protect themselves when they are under stress
Debriefing and group discussion opportunity for students to explore and discuss feelings related to their experiences
