In 1974, when the World Trade Center Twin Towers were not completely finished, a high-wire artist decided he wanted the towers as his next "coup". Philippe Petit was all of 24-years-old when he spent nearly an hour, 1,350 feet in the air, walking on his illegally strung wire from one tower to the other. Man on Wire is the 94-minute story of Petit's quest and ultimate conquer of walking betwixt the then tallest buildings in the world. It's rather bittersweet to see the Twin Towers, not even open for business yet.
This film was part of the 2008 Sundance Festival and will be at the South Beach 18 on August 15th.
