    Free paint for Broward

    While Broward County has an ongoing paint recycling program, you usually have to call your particular city for details. Today only, you can pick up free paint without the red tape - here's the details:

    Free Exterior Latex Paint Available to Broward County Residents

    Exterior latex paint will be available to Broward County residents at no charge for one day only. The event, coordinated by Broward County's Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program, will provide re-blended latex paint that has been recycled from paints dropped off at Household Hazardous Waste locations by Broward County residents. Paint is available in four colors: beige, terra-cotta, gray, and turquoise.
    Available to Broward County residents only (proof of residency is required). Paint is for residential use only-no businesses.

    One day only, Sunday, July 27, 2008, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

    North Trash Transfer Station, 2780 N. Powerline Road, Pompano Beach

    Limit of 20 gallons per household (paint is distributed in 5-gallon containers). Residents are responsible for checking their municipality's and homeowner's associations' paint color restriction ordinances prior to painting their homes.
